Fresh Green Vegetable Stir Fry
Serves 6
1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
1 medium head broccoli, cut into florets
3 Tablespoons sherry
3 Tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh ginger
I cup chicken stock
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 1/2 Tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 Tablespoons water
6 sets of chop sticks (Optional)
Make sauce by combining sherry, soy sauce, ginger, and chicken stock. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3 to 4 minutes. Add sauce and sesame seeds, mixing together well. Cover and steam/cook another 3 to 4 minutes, or until just tender-crisp. Uncover and sprinkle sesame oil over vegetables. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook about 1 minute more or until sauce thickens. Serve immediately over a bed of rice or oriental noodles. Try this dish with Chop sticks for a change.
The sesame flavors complement this tempting vegetable stir fry which includes no onion or garlic, making it very easy on sensitive stomachs.

The Taste of Gloucester - A Fisherman's Wife Cooks - 8th Edition
"The Taste of Gloucester" cookbook was created by the Gloucester Fishermen's Wives and the Cape Ann League of Women's Voters to share recipes of lesser known species of fish as well as familiar ones. Their cookbook, The Taste of Gloucester has sold over 200,000 copies. The Taste of Gloucester recipes are drawn from tradition and are variations of ethnic specialties for different occasions. The original purpose of the cookbook was the promotion of underutilized fish to help the local fleet diversify. Squid, Atlantic Herring and Shark recipes are scattered among those for more familiar species.
